My mom had a speed queen set so that's how I know the name.I wanted something that would stand the test of time without all the electronic WiFi stuff I wanted a work horse and so far it is just that. One thing is the moisture sensor is a little to sensitive and the dryer says it's done and the clothes are damp/ wet. Great set I opted for the stainless steel outside paid the extra looks really nice

This is a catch 22 review, we have only had this unit for 3 weeks and Speed Queen requests a review. So far so good but this is our second set of washer and dryers from Speed Queen. The first set was the worst product we have ever owned with 5 major repairs within 2 years! Zajic Appliance of Sacramento CA was outstanding, however when asked for a replacement set, Speed Queen washes their hands and everything falls back on the seller. We were assured the stacked set we had prior was a lemon and Speed Queen is still the most reliable units they sell. So we will see.........

It took much longer to deliver than I expected. I wanted a top loading machine but I somehow ordered a front loading machine. I am an elderly lady and it took all I've got in me to get it unpacked and positioned then I had to go online for instructions on how to remove all packing. The product seems to wash okay and the dryer is great.

I purchased this dryer (and matching FF7 washer) in June of 2020. The salesperson at Warner's Stellian Appliances in St. Paul sold me on the simplicity and reliability of the Speed Queen brand. I also specified that I wanted machines that were made in America. The reviews of Speed Queen seem to be mostly positive, and I subscribe to Consumer Reports which also rates these as top performers. That said, I can honestly say that I do not agree with those claims. The dryer has continued to make an annoying squeaking sound upon initial startup - I have had the appliance repair technician come out 3 separate times for this same issue and it continues to persist. I am currently waiting for yet another service call to hopefully fix this issue. The dryer performance is marginal (at best) as many times it leaves my clothes damp. Yes I have tried every setting, adding additional time when the selection allows, and even turned off the moisture sensor. Both the washer and dryer are loud, even more than the Kenmore HE3T pair that was over 19 years old I replaced these with. If you are looking at these models you know they are not cheap machines. I trusted the Speed Queen nameplate would give me years of good service and solid performance. Unfortunately, these are an expensive mistake and I would have serious reservations about recommending them to a friend.

After being sold a bill of goods on our last dryer (that didn't even last 1 year without problems), we were set on getting something that was built to last and built in America, if possible. This is big enough to handle the bed quilts, American made and comes with a full, top-to-bottom, they-come-to-your-house-if-it-needs-fixing, 5 year warranty! Time will tell the tale but with a warranty like that, it is probably built to last.

I owned a commercial/ Industrial laundry and had Speed Queen washers 30 yrs ago. this is my first Speed Queen washer and dryer in my home. There is a substantial difference in the equipment compared to the mass market products and I could see having mine for the next 20+ years. That said my only complaint with this dryer is the front door latch is cheap and feels old fashion, in order to close the door it needs to be slamed, It should be magnetic like other washer/ dryers. There could also be better operating instructions even a YouTube video would help.

When i used the "brand new" speed queen washer continued to get error on board saying ED 29. Went on for 3 weeks. Has to replace motor. (Which i felt we should get a new washer- but did not) and that seems to have solved the problem. But i felt spending a lot of money for the "best" washer- we should not have to have a new motor after having the washer for 1week. Right now it's good to go and i do like the washer. Happy with the dryer!
